The exercises.
In the snatch, you lift the barbell from the ground to above your head in one explosive movement with a wide grip.
In the clean & jerk, you lift the barbell to the shoulders first with a narrower grip and then push it above your head.
Competitions.
During a weightlifting competition, you have 3 attempts to achieve your maximum weight in both lifts. The sum of your 2 best attempts determines your final score.
